The so-called “Anti-box” featuring “
Whispers from the Gothic Gloom. And a Fiend...”, "
Buried Lithanies. Undead ?”, “As
Fragile As an Uncanny Cobweb” and “
Où Les
Phalènes Sombrent”, released in September 2007, gained everywhere
good reviews,
sometimes very
positive, with one isolated yet notable
exception.
Both the
former and the latter revealed, once again, how much challenging and demanding
any Gothic release is and how much controversial it could be to those who are
not acquainted with Gothic’s weird way “to make art”.
James M. Jason, David Bosch and John Ruin’s work on the next Gothic Multimedia
Project opus increased in the last months. Particularly GMP’s efforts have being
focused on the lyrical and multimedia sides of the whole opus whereas the work
on the musical and graphic parts is at an advanced stage. Jason, Bosch and Ruin
are fully conscious this opus will stand as the highest point in GMP’s artistic
course, unlikely to be matched again. The painstaking attention to every particular
detail of this work is the logical consequence of this awareness.

Gothic History Part I (Multimedia DVD – Théâtre de la Mort 08)
Detailed biography of the first Gothic incarnation (1989-1993)
Gothic History Part II (Multimedia DVD – Théâtre de la Mort 08)
Detailed biography of the second Gothic incarnation up to the rise of the Gothic Multimedia Project (1993-2004)
19.06.2007
On the occasion of the XIX anniversary of its own activity, the Gothic Multimedia
Project is glad to announce the contemporaneous release of 4 separate albums. These
albums, featuring the old, recently digitally reengineered and remastered Gothic
stuff, from “Into the Gothic Gloom” (1989) up to “Fleeing the Rainland” (2000), will
be conceptually bound by two multimedia dvds which will retrace Gothic’s history
from the humble beginnings in September 1989 to the rise of the Gothic Multimedia
Project in the first half of the current decade.
The first album, entitled “Whispers from the Gothic Gloom. And a Fiend...” will
feature the most memorable songs from “Into the Gothic Gloom” (1989), “Into the Deep
Tartarus” (1990), “Into the Cave” (1991), “Whispers from the Grave” (1992), “... and
from Hell Came the Revenge” (1993) whereas the second one, “Buried Lithanies. Undead
?” will include the most important tracks from “The Pestilence... Post Contagium”
(1993), “Dreaming the Apocalypse” (1994), “Dark Dimension” (1995), “Cold Winds of
Suicide” (1997) and “Fleeing the Rainland” (2000).
The third album, entitled “As Fragile As an Uncanny Cobweb”, will feature the three
most representative songs from “Fleeing the Rainland” and the fourth album, “Où les
Phalènes Sombrent”, will include two previously unreleased tracks (2001) as well as
two totally rearranged and remixed songs from “Grim” (2004).
These four albums, yet separate and distinct, will be released together in a box-set
(4 CDs, 2 DVDs) which is not really a box-set in the truest sense of the word: hence
the definition of “Anti-box set”, in order to stress the distinction of each album
from the others and, at the same time, their logical connection in the overall Gothic
history.
James Maximilian Jason and John Ruin have finally achieved the ultimate reengineering
of “Fleeing the Rainland” and “The Pestilence... Post Contagium” and are currently
working on the last details of the multimedia dvds.
The four albums above mentioned are officially due on 30 September of this year.
The tracklist of every single album won’t be announced until the albums will be
released.
01.02.2007
The long and extremely hard recording process of next Gothic opus’ musical part
has finally begun. It will last at least one year and a half and both the realization
of the musical contents and the poetry writing will proceed at the same pace.
As far as the painstaking work for the so-called “Anti-box set” is concerned,
“Dreaming the Apocalypse” (1994), “Dark Dimension” (1995) and “Cold Winds of Suicide”
(1997) have been re-engineered, with good results, too, whereas a new reengineering
of “The Pestilence... Post Contagium” (1993) turned out to be quite unavoidable since
James M. Jason was not fully satisfied with former demo’s resulting overall sound.
Moreover John Ruin is actually working on the tricky reengineering of “Fleeing the
Rainland” (2000).
13.10.2006
The deal with Rockdetector ceased to exist already some months ago because of
Rockdetector cd store programme’s general failure. The Gothic Multimedia Project
is still baffled by the lack of professionalism shown by Rockdetector and regards
this unfortunate experience as a precious lesson for the future of the G.M.P.
On the contrary, a link to Gothic Dimension has been “approved” both in the impressive
English pages of Wikipedia (Goth subculture’s page), the largest virtual encyclopaedia
in the web and in its Italian version (Dark rock’s page).
The work in progress for the new Gothic opus is quite satisfying. Particularly the
songwriting and the graphic part have achieved an advanced stage.
Finally (so far) “Whispers from the Grave” (1992) as well as “... and from Hell Came
the Revenge” (1993) have been successfully reengineered.

The Dutch ambient-metal band Triplesix,
led by Wilmar Taal, has decided to support the "Théatre de la Mort 08" dark
avant-garde art movement, joining Testing Vault (Italy) and Luke Hatton (England).
Brand new interview with James M. Jason, John Ruin and David Bosch released by Wilmar Taal
himself (Rockportaal.nl – The Netherlands). The gothic
trio dwells on Gothic Multimedia Project’s demanding projects and on Théatre de la Mort
08’s ambitious aims. Click here to read it!
Furthermore the Press Report section has been updated with
two new reviews: check this out.
More to come in the near, darker future.
19.04.2006
It’s been a while since the last update, nevertheless Gothic Multimedia Project’s
train never slackened its speed. Many things are brewing in Gothic’s dark dimension.
First: the long work for the next challenging Gothic opus has been incessant since
the very release of "Grim" and it’s currently proceeding well, although it’s turning
out to be more and more hard and complex. The Gothic Multimedia Project will maintain
a considerable reserve on this matter until we will be about to release this
revolutionary multimedia opus, due not earlier than two years because of the huge and
difficult work still to be done, even if many considerable results have been achieved
in these two years. So keep the faith because it will be worth the wait!
In the meanwhile the G.M.P. has re-engineered the so-called “Satan’s Trilogy”, that is
the first three Gothic albums: "Into the Gothic Gloom" (1989-90), "Into the Deep Tartarus"
(1990) and "Into the Cave" (1991). These former demos lied in a deplorable status of
utter inaccuracy but eventually, after a hard working, the resulting sound is fair or
even good. Most likely, the "Anti-box Set", consisting of four cds, independent from
each other still logically and chronologically connected, will be officially released
next year.
While waiting for all these future Gothic works, exclusively here at Gothic Dimension,
you can download three other songs from "Grim", Gothic’s last album (May 2004): "I Give
Up (Defeat’s Dance)", "Between the Endless Tides" and "Noir (Czarny): Néant - Eloignement
– Dévoilement – Torpeur – Effroi – Néant". Just click here
and enjoy!

The industrial one-man band Testing Vault
(Italy) embodied by SainT dANi HA-HA-HA, alias dANi/Alvo Ov TV, has recently
joined the "Théatre de la Mort 08" dark avant-garde art movement founded by
James M. Jason, David Bosch and John Ruin in the late May, 2005.
The growing art and human fellowship between James M. Jason and dANi/Alvo could
soon lead to some musical side collaboration, undoubtedly out of the respective
main projects.
The Gothic project has officially agreed to a distribution deal with Rockdetector
(United Kingdom), the Giant of the rock music databases on the net as well as the
world’s biggest rock and metal website. This deal will allow Gothic to spread their
"gloomy and weird art omen" throughout Europe at first, and afterwards worldwide,
preserving Gothic’s full indipendence at the same time, essential to keep Gothic’s
creativity and artistic identity absolutely uncontaminated by any "commercial temptation"
coming from the so-called music biz.
29.05.2005
Welcome to Gothic Dimension 2.0! What’s new? First of all, more evidently,
a new intro, a new layout as well as... new contents and many new ideas.
A new dark avant-garde art movement is born today: its name is “Théâtre de
la Mort 08” (“Theatre of Death 08”) and it means to be also the new label of
the Gothic project which will produce Gothic’s future albums.
This challenging and ghostly art movement/label founded by James M. Jason,
John Ruin and David Bosch, as its name suggests, not only stands as a homage
to Taudeusz Kantor (1915-1990), the late lamented Polish playwright who, better
than any other artist of all times, was able to perform that comedy of Death
turning out to be the dark veil under which Man looks for a shelter from the
mean tragedies and the “Spleen” of life: this movement/label aims at bringing
Kantor’s cultural heritage into the gloomy dimension of the contemporary
multimedia avant-garde. A sparkle of genius (Kantor) as a vivid guide (Gothic)
to interpret Future’s distressing signs. The darkness to survive.
You can read the “Théâtre de la Mort 08” movement’s Multimedia Manifesto written
by James M. Jason, David Bosch and John Ruin, by clicking here!
This art movement is open to all interested artists and therefore anyone
(single artist, band, art project and so on) who wishes to join the
“Théâtre de la Mort 08” dark avant-garde art movement is welcome and can
contact us by the contact-form you can find in the Contact page.
One year has passed since “Grim”, the last Gothic album, was released (May 2004)...
and we guess some of you were wondering if the very essence of our work has been
grasped or not... well, finally you’ll find the answer(s) to your question(s) in
the Press Report page, where you can read all the
reviews about “Grim” published worldwide by magazines, ezines, private individuals
(critics or simply music/art lovers) from Europe, North America, Central-South America,
Africa, Asia and Oceania.
Furthermore, you can see David Bosch’s new drawing in the updated Pictures page.
This new drawing is a sort of partial visual anticipation of Gothic’s new art style
and so... dig it!
25.04.2005
James M. Jason, John Ruin and David Bosch are going to launch that polymorphous entity
which will be both Gothic's new label and a new artistic movement in the dark avant-garde
multimedia field as well. The manifesto of this new, dusky and weird artistic entity is
due to be officially published on Gothic Dimension next
May 29th 2005, date when Gothic's new website, Gothic Dimension 2.0, will be launched
at this same web-address. The new website will feature all the reviews about "Grim"
published by mags and ezines worldwide until then, after 1 year has passed since Grim
was officially released (05.29.2004).
Furthermore John Ruin and James M. Jason are currently re-engineering Gothic's past releases,
from "Into the Gothic Gloom" (1989) to "Fleeing the Rainland" (2000) in order to release a
sort of "Anti-Box Set" comprising 4 CD's which will be available only singly as well as in
a limited edition, as a special gift to all Gothic fans worldwide.
